The Brella Co. Presents
Discipline of Distance

Run for Purpose. Move for Impact.

This year’s Discipline of Distance supports Angel Force USA — an organization dedicated to honoring and supporting veterans, promoting mental wellness, and preventing suicide among service members and their families.

What started as one man’s challenge has become a movement of endurance with meaning — in partnership with Suicide Sprint Challenge.

How It Started

When Zac Archuleta turned 40, he decided to mark the milestone not with a party, but with 40 coastal miles — a personal test of endurance, discipline, and gratitude. What began as his own commitment to push limits has evolved into a community run for something greater.

Now, those same 40 miles carry purpose — raising awareness and support for Angel Force USA.

Join the Journey

Run a few miles, run them all, or meet us at the finish line. Every stride, every cheer, and every contribution fuels a cause that reminds us: The real distance is what we overcome together.

After the Finish Line

We’ll gather near the San Clemente Pier for light lunch, refreshments, and connection — a moment to celebrate movement, community, and the difference we’ve made together.

Route Details and Landmarks

Seal Beach to Huntington Beach : Miles 0–8
The run begins with a long, flat, and easy stretch along the coastal path. You’ll pass through Sunset Beach before arriving at the iconic Huntington Beach Pier — a perfect early checkpoint to refuel or join in.

Newport Beach and Corona del Mar : Miles 8–17
Continue south along beach paths through Newport. Some sections briefly merge with Pacific Coast Highway, offering ocean views and energy from passing traffic. You’ll run by Corona del Mar before entering the more scenic and rolling parts of Laguna Beach.

Laguna Beach : Miles 17–27
This is the most challenging segment of the run, featuring steady rolling hills and minimal shade. Some areas have narrow shoulders and limited running paths, so stay alert and hydrate often. The views, though, are worth every step.

Dana Point : Miles 27–33
After Laguna, you’ll descend into Dana Point, where the route flattens out again. The harbor offers a cool breeze and scenic stretch before the final push into San Clemente.

San Clemente : Miles 33–40
The last leg follows the picturesque San Clemente Coastal Trail all the way to the pier — the final destination. Expect soft sand views, ocean air, and a well-earned finish line moment. Some sections may have detours due to erosion or maintenance, but the route remains one of the most rewarding coastal runs in Southern California.

VOLUNTEER

Not every mile is run — some are supported.

We’re looking for volunteers to help with hydration, snacks, driving drop-bags, and capturing the journey along the way. Whether you can give an hour or the whole morning, your energy helps keep the miles moving.
